I
once got lost in my front yard…Ok,
it was a really big yard! I have
paddling experience from Alaska,
San Juan islands, Newfoundland,
Lake Superior, along with numerous
other lakes and rivers in Minnesota.
I have about 7 years of racing behind
me from paddling to marathons. Overall
I like how racing challenges you
both mentally, and physically...Along
with meeting great people and discovering
awesome scenery! |

Race
Goals: |
My
main goal is to finish the race
possibly in 70 to 80 hours, including
mandatory stopovers. I decided
to enter the race because it appeared
to me that it would be a nice
way to visit the Yukon. At the
same time, it is an opportunity
to do a totally mind-boggling
wacky event. |
Bio: |
I
was introduced to kayaking by a
friend in July 2004. Since August
25th, the day my kayak was delivered,
I logged more than 60 hours of paddling
in 25 outings. I also took a couple
of lessons to learn self-rescue
techniques. I plan to learn to roll.
I am an Hawaii Ironman Finisher.
I participated in four running marathons.
My friends say that I do most of
the things I start with a compulsive
passion. |

Channel World Championship, Primal
Quest and other international expeditions
races. My first ultra canoe trip
was from Chicken to Circle in 1971.
Craig: Survivor of 30 Alaska winters.
Victim of the Alaska Mountain and
Wilderness Classic, Crow Pass Crossing,
and other foolish Alaska backcountry
races. First descent, with
Herbie Greenwood, of the Crow Wing
River in a paddle-steered duckboat.
A boon companion on many pioneering
packraft adventures. Someone old
enough to know better than to do
this stuff, but too young to stop
trying. |

Goals: |
To regain full use of our upper
bodies; to meet a physical and
mental challenge; to prove that
we can undertake strenuous exercise
without developing lymphedema;
to learn to trust our new bodies;
to share a positive experience
with other breast cancer survivors.
We choose to do this as part of
a public event in order to help
other women living with breast
cancer realize that they, too,
can live full and active lives,
and to raise awareness about breast
cancer.
